Lively Events for June in NYC

New York City, a vibrant, extravagant, and cosmopolitan metropolis, is also a great location to enjoy live performances. Broadway, Central Park, 5th Avenue, Bronx, and Queens are just some locations where spectacular shows and festivals will take place this June.

Concerts and music festivals

Check out some of the most important ones and get ready to have some real fun in the Big Apple. The famous singer Lana del Ray will be in New York on June 7 and 8. She will dazzle her fans with her staggering voice at the Irving Plaza. After her smashing hits “Video Games” and “Born to Die”, the singer has gathered millions of fans and worldwide recognition. The concert will begin at 8 pm and the price per ticket is $20. Those fascinated by indie/rock music will be able to watch The Cult in action on June 8. The band will hold a concert on Terminal 5 and ticket prices start at $29.50.

New York City is the Mecca of festivals. The Museum Mile Festival starts on June 12, and it is considered New York’s craziest block party. From 6pm to 9pm entering all the museums is free of charge. The journey will start from the National Academy Museum, it will reach the Museum of the City of New York, and it will finally stop at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Concerts, street-art performances, and entertainment for kids will be available for the people as well.

There are so many events happening in June in New York City. Celebrate Brooklyn for example, begins on June 5, and it’s a great opportunity to attend a free concert in Prospect Park. Perfect for families and couples alike, the lively event will feature a fabulous opening gala where the reggae legend Jimmy Cliff will hold a concert. The 5th of June is also the start of another traditional event, Shakespeare in the Park. Amazing theatre performances will be presented to those still fascinated by live shows. The main goal of the whole celebration is to support and encourage culture, especially now when people don’t go to the theatre anymore.

Festivals and block parties

The Big Apple is such a diverse city. Leaving aside the concerts, the live performances and the free concerts, we come across The Big Barbeque Block Party. The giant food festival will take place in Madison Square Park and it will begin on June 9. Avid cooks will attend the show to demonstrate that they’re the best at grilling. Additionally, the event has prepared a series of concerts as well. Live jazz music, good mood, and delicious barbeques will convert the festival into a perfect family weekend.

Another great celebration that cannot be missed in New York City is the Northside Festival. Starting from June 14, folk music fans will have the chance to listen to their favorite performers. Names like Neil Hamburger, Of Montreal, Questlove and more, will take the stage and sing for the people of NYC. The Big Apple is an amazing live venue where live performance, concerts, and festival will help locals and tourists to make the most of their free time and have lots of fun with their friends and familes.
