Take her to brunch at a special place

Café d’Alsace – 1695 Second Ave (212) 722-5133

Café d’Alsace is a cozy French-American bistro that was started by Chef Philippe Roussel and specializes in Alsatian food such as Choucroute Garnie, Tarte Flambee and Baeckeofe.  There are a lot of pastry treats as well with the famous Apple Tarts, and dessert specialties such as Pear Feuillete (pears layered with crème legere and puff pastry).  Brunch menu features specialty omelets, pancakes and Belgian waffles.  Here’s a link the brunch menu

Take her to The Met

Metropolitan Museum of Art –  1000 Fifth Ave

There’s lot of family programs schedules for The Met on Sunday.  Look for special workshops that include stained glass, silver smithing and works in bronze.  There’s a lot to see at The Met with special exhibits from Matisse, Picasso and the Parisian avant garde painters.  There is also a special exhibit of Egyptian art as well as many other world-class exhibits that can really be a visual treat for mom.  Here’s a link to The Met.
