Manhattan residents, get ready to see yet another residential development breaking ground in Tribeca.  A new 20-unit condominium is set to begin construction at 11 North Moore Street in the next couple of months.

The 80,000 square foot condo, designed by Adjmi & Andreoli, is being developed by VE Equities in partnership with the family that has owned the property for many decades.  The completion date is set for sometime late next year.

Consisting of 19 loft style apartments and a penthouse, the 9 story building will be in the heart of North Tribeca.  Units range in size from 3,000 square feet to 8,000 square feet and each will feature at least one wall of windows to let in plenty of light.  The penthouse boasts 20 foot ceilings and will have its own private roof deck and full-size pool.  The building itself will take up the entire block north to Beach Street, and will include a large interior courtyard and parking as well as a gym, library and ground-floor storage units.

The style of the building is designed to fit with the industrial character and warehouse style of Tribeca.  The dramatic over-sized windows are recessed 18″ from the facade creating architectural rhythm.  The top portion of the building is faced with brushed and natural limestone and rests on a steel beam.

Prices for the units are not yet available, although VE recently completed sales at a nearby property which included two triplexes and three full-floor, three-bedroom lofts.  Those units sold for between $5 million and $12.5 million.  North Moore street is considered one of the most expensive and most popular streets in Tribeca.

Morris Adjmi and Aldo Andreoli met in Italy in 1990 when both were working as architects.  They share a love of modern design and a strong interest in history.  In 2010 the pair teamed up for a design competition for a 120,000 square foot international fashion, photography and video studio in New York.  They won the competition, and decided to join forces by creating their own firm.

11 North Moore is not VE’s first project on this posh street.  They recently sold-out units at 1 North Moore Street, which is on the corner of West Broadway.
